About Training Unlimited

Lynn Morris, founder of Training Unlimited, has worked in both center and family child care using her Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education, specializing in Social Studies and Psychology. She has been active in the Capital District's child care community for over 20 years. Instrumental in the creation of the Sonshine Patch Preschool located in Cohoes, N.Y., Lynn was its head teacher for four years. After deciding her own children needed attention, she became a registered family child care provider in Lansingburgh, N.Y. For seven years Lynn provided quality care to neighborhood children while nurturing her own. Always on the lookout for an interesting project, Lynn became involved with the creation of the Tender Loving Care Christian Child Care Center in Brunswick, N.Y. Today she serves as their training consultant and as a member of their Executive Committee.

During her years as a family child care provider, Lynn began to share her child care expertise by presenting workshops at the annual conferences of the Family Child Care Association of New York State and the Capital District Child Care Coordinating Council. This experience opened the door to a new career as an early childhood trainer with the Coordinating Council. Part of her job responsibilities included researching, writing, and presenting workshops for all modalities of child care, including presentations at the NYS Association for the Education of Young Children and the Family Child Care Association of NYS. Lynn represented the Coordinating Council on the Greater Capital District Asthma Coalition, the St. Patrick's Home-Based Child Care Partnership and the Board of Directors of the Children's Place at the Plaza. Lynn has been featured on Capital News 9's "9 on Parenting" series.

After leaving the Coordinating Council to concentrate on providing high quality training on a full time basis, Lynn was an integral part of the merger of two well known Albany day care centers--the Children's Place at the Plaza and Pierce Hall. Her commitment to the Asthma Coalition and the St. Patrick's Partnership continue. Her company, Training Unlimited, provides options for the child care professions, including distance learning and individual training that is similar to coaching.
