"Supervision for Family Day Care and Group Family Day Care"
Course Description:
This course examines the NYS OCFS regulations 416 and 417 Section 8: Supervision of Children, and the maximum capacities of family and group family day care homes found in the 413 regulations. Basic supervision skills are described. Common errors and situations are discussed. It is an excellent review for an experienced provider, as well as a more in depth explanation for new providers.
The goal of this course is to raise the quality of your supervision skills. To do this you will
- 1. Locate NYS OCFS regulations pertaining to supervision and interpret them in everyday language.
- 2. Define supervision.
- 3. Identify correct maximum capacities for both family and group family day care homes.
- 4. List and explain at least one effective supervision skill for each supervision scenario.
This course provides 3 hours of training in these New York State Office of Children and Family Services regulation areas: (4) Safety and Security Procedures and (7) Statutes and Regulations pertaining to Child Day Care. It consists of 15 questions taken directly from the regulations and 35 questions that apply the supervision regulations, including program capacity, to situations that have actually occurred in home day care programs. This is a total of 50 questions. All information you need is included with this course.
